My hobby is exploding!

My sewing journey began years ago in Home Ec class, back in 7th grade.  Somehow my finger went right past the safety guard and before I knew it, I had 2 needle holes in my finger. I didn't sew for a long time after that. Tried again when my children were very young and in diapers. The skirt I sewed just fell apart in the wash. What did I do wrong?  A few more years go by, and I sew clothes for my kids. I attempted making a quilt, but it did not get finished.

I didn't sew again until 2015 when I got a new sewing machine that adjusted tension for me. I made clothes for grandkids and myself. Then I picked up a quilt kit that was basic squares, simple and easy. I surprised myself, and others, that I really enjoyed making that quilt and it has just been so much fun! I love to share all the projects with you. Thanks for joining me!

Do you have some T-shirts you would like to use to make a memory quilt? Do you have clothes from a loved one you want to cherish and have a quilt made that will be like getting a hug from that person? I can also make pillow covers from shirts.  See my photos for some of the quilts I have made for others. Contact me and we'll work something out.

I am so glad I asked Karla to make this memory quilt for me. My husband passed away a few years ago. He loved scuba diving and she had a fabric panel with an underwater picture. It brought back a lot of memories. She even added a picture of him to the quilt. I love it!
